Gardening Club

Session 10: Well what a fabulous end to gardening club this year! On Thursday we finished with a potato salad with all home grown ingredients.  Then on Friday we visited Ryton Organic Garden Centre for their celebration day.  We had a lovely afternoon, looking around the different zones to see what sort of projects we might like to undertake next year.  Then we took part in a workshop to create a  'Bee Hotel'.  We learnt about the importance of bees and how we can help them survive.

Here are a few photos:

Thirsty work!

Sessions 3-9: We have continued growing all sorts of things! And we've given the poly tunnel a spring (well summer) clean!

Here are some of our crops:

Session 2: We will be planting some tomato seedlings, runner beans and flowers. We will make a frame from some canes for the runner beans to grow up. We might also have time to plant some herbs!

Session 1: We planted the pansies that had been donated from Ryton Garden Centre. I think there must have been over 100 of them! We also had a general tidy up and did some weeding. Things are looking rosy! Take a look at us in action:
